As we prepare to re-open our doors for Summer 2021, we seek to recruit enthusiastic motivated individuals to join our progressive team. The working hours of the successful candidate will be mainly within the café opening times which at present are Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 5pm. However, flexibility is essential from candidates as we occasionally cater for onsite events outside of normal café hours. We are a small team with a positive, collaborative outlook and can offer many opportunities for the successful candidate which include:

CHEF DE PARTIE

Job responsibilities include assisting the head chef and/or sous chef with the day to day running of the kitchen. The successful candidate will be responsible for running specific sections within the kitchen, stock rotation, ordering and maintaining hygiene records, ensuring your section of the kitchen is kept clean and well maintained.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

2 Years’ experience in a similar role.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to manage specific sections of the kitchen and oversee other junior members of staff.

Maintain portion control & waste management.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

Level 2 or 3 qualification in cookery.

PAY RATE

Hourly. Based on qualifications and experience.

COMMIS CHEF

General kitchen assistant, preparing foods, organising sections and assisting the senior chefs.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Candidates should demonstrate a good attitude to work and a keen interest in learning about food.

PAY RATE

Hourly. Based on qualifications and experience.

SOUS CHEF

Job responsibilities include assisting the head chef with the day to day running of the kitchens and taking full responsibility in their absence. A suitable candidate will have the necessary skills to run all sections of the kitchen. Responsibilities include ordering, maintaining hygiene records, waste management and staff management, ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and well maintained.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

3 Years’ experience in a similar role.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to manage the kitchen and oversee other junior members of staff.

Maintain portion control & waste management.

Ability to be creative with fresh seasonal produce.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

Level 3 (or above) qualification in Professional Cookery.

PAY RATE

Hourly or Salaried. Based on qualifications and experience.

KITCHEN CLEANER/PORTER

This position entails working on the wash up area in our café, general cleaning throughout the premises and organisational duties back of house. Hours can be full time or part time, day-time hours and involve weekend work.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Previous cleaning/kitchen porter experience required.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

Possesses good organisational skills.

PAY RATE

Hourly. Based on qualifications and experience.

FLOOR SHIFT MANAGER

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar fast paced café style operation. This person will be familiar with all aspects of café shift management, staff supervision and be capable of delivering excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Knowledge and experience of EPOS system operation essential.

2 years previous experience in a similar establishment.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

Barista experience preferable.

Food service qualification.

PAY RATE

Hourly or Salaried. Based on qualifications and experience.

WAITING/FLOOR/BARISTA STAFF

This role involves working in various areas within our café and events team. The successful candidate will be able to confidently operate our EPOS till system and take customer orders, perform basic barista skills in preparing hot beverages, have excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with customers, be able to perform basic table service/food and beverage skills within the café and during events.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Knowledge and experience of EPOS system operation essential.

1 year’s previous experience in a similar working environment.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

Barista experience preferable.

PAY RATE

Hourly. Based on qualifications and experience.
