We can only produce great food with fantastic ingredients. Provenance and integrity of our food has always been at the core of our beliefs, so we bake our own bread, cakes and patisserie and have a network of fantastic local and artisan suppliers who we have been working with for many years.
It makes sense to us to source food this way, supporting our incredibly important Agri-Food sector and artisan producers, ensuring that the money we spend is kept within the local economy. We believe that the return in terms of reducing food miles, improved traceability, flavour, authenticity and outstanding quality that we offer our customers is worth it.
As our business is diverse in terms of cafes, delis, outside catering and our wholesale bakery, we may not have every supplier listed in every place or at every event. However, below is a list of our core suppliers and “go-to” producers, as well as products which we love to retail if we have the space
We take our environmental, ethical and social responsibilities seriously. We understand that our business activities have an impact on the environment and we need to mitigate that.
All our take-away food packaging will soon be made exclusively from plant material and will be fully compostable.
We recycle as much as we possibly can (dry recyclables, cardboard, food waste) and are actively working towards zero waste to landfill.
We have made a commitment to eliminate single use plastics.
We also compost on-site wherever it is appropriate.
As well as being passionate about local food and drink, we believe it is important to give something back and to support those within our local community.
We use 2 social enterprises as suppliers; Clearer Water from Co. Antrim for our bottled water and Wee Choco from Co. Down for our delicious hot chocolate.
We treat our staff fairly and feed them well whilst at work; we encourage staff who would like to learn more and study for qualifications at the same time.
Recognising that the next generation are vital to the sustainability of our food and drink heritage, we are very proud to have sponsored ‘Sow, Grow, Munch’ which is an initiative to encourage school children to grow from seed, cultivate, cook and eat our fabulous local produce.
